tri|lo|bite «TRY luh byt», noun.
a small, extinct, marine arthropod of the Paleozoic era, with jointed legs and a body divided into three vertical lobes and many horizontal segments. Small fossil trilobites are widely found in various rocks. They are believed related to the crustaceans.
